The Galaxy S7 features a 3000mAh and the Galaxy S7 Edge uses a 3600mAh battery, each of which is larger than those batteries used in last year’s S6 and S6 Edge.Īnd yet, we want more battery.

One final thing, the battery I received from samsungparts has English and Korean text exactly like the image on the product page. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have recently landed, receiving mass critical acclaim for their speed, cutting edge feature set and impressive battery performance. Samsung phone info is showing 99% which I’m sure will decrease and meet AccuBattery at some point.
HOW MUCH SAMSUNG S7 BATTERY REPAIR FULL
AccuBattery is now showing 93% which is fine because I read Samsung didn’t charge the battery to full capacity to reduce battery degradation ( ). With a $10 set from amazon and my hair dryer, I was done in 40 minutes. Replacing the battery myself turned out to be not that hard.
HOW MUCH SAMSUNG S7 BATTERY REPAIR UPDATE
I ordered OEM battery from, it took them 3.5 weeks to ship the battery because it was on back order and another 1.5 weeks through USPS First Class service to arrive, which included a 6 day black out with no tracking update which panicked me. My last resort is to order the OEM battery and replace it myself (which I was afraid because the phone is glued). It was only $50.Īt this point, I’m done with third party service and after-market battery. I didn’t go back because I think it would be just waste of my time. I knew this is bs because there is no relationship between battery capacity and charging rate but didn’t argue. I asked how he would test it, he said he would measure the charging rate, if it’s over 1A, then the battery is good. I called the repair shop and the guy said I could bring my phone back and he would test the battery to see if it’s OK. After 2 weeks, both apps were showing ~50-55% capacity (). And then, AccuBattery stat changed direction and started dropping as well. Over a few days, AccuBattery stat slowly climbed to 60% but at the same time, Samsungphone info stat slowly dropped. My hope was that AccuBattery was not accurate and it would improve over time. Right after replacement, Samsung phone info showed 99% capacity while AccuBattery showed ~50% (wtf?). I bit the bullet and replaced the battery for $50 at CPR. Now I have read stories about third-party service using crappy battery but I hoped that’s not the case for me. The closest one quoted $150 (really!) and the second closest one quoted $50.

I looked online and Cell Phone Repair (CPR) seems to be a good choice based on reviews. My next choice would be to find a third-party service. The real reason was probably that Samsung protocol doesn’t allow them to operate on international version and provide warranty for the work.Īnyway, BestBuy refunded my payment and I was back at square one. They said there were some differences in phone layout which I knew was bs. They could not work on my phone because my phone is the international version (930F). As a Samsung authorized repair center, they would have to update my phone when they replace the battery (why!?) My phone was on Nougat (I didn’t update to Orea because of all the posts about extreme battery drain).

They inspected my phone and informed me of 2 problems: I scheduled an appointment for the following week. I prepaid the cost of the battery replacement, went home and they called me 1 week later to let me know the battery was ready. When I came to the store, they told me they didn’t have the battery in stock, so they would have to order it. After 2.5 years, by charging only between 30 and 80%, my battery capacity was down to only 79% (according to both AccuBattery and Samsung phone info), which was not too bad but since I intended to keep the phone for at least 2 more years, I decided it's time to replace the battery.īestBuy where I live provides authorized battery replacement service for Samsung phone at only $50, so this was a no brainer. I bought my phone in March 2017, 1 year after release because that’s when I could get a good deal on the price. I'm not sure how many people in this sub still keep their S7 phone but for those among us who do, I hope this will provide a reference for future need. Third-party service uses crappy after-market Chinese battery. TLDR: Bestbuy doesn't work on international phone and will update your phone to latest version.
